  Job   Summary  
  An   adapter   writer   works   in   a   fast   changing   environment   and   must   be   able   to   handle   multiple   projects   concurrently.   This   requires   exceptional   organizational   skills,   experience   performing   multiple   tasks,   and   excellent   written   and   verbal   communications   skills.   He   or   she   must   be   able   to   work   well   with   adapter   developers   (often   independently)   to   gather   information,   and   to   write   complete   manuals   from   scratch   for   online   and   print   publication.  
   
  Responsibilities/Daily   Tasks  
  "•   Create   plans   for   development   of   new   adapter   documentation.    
  •   Write   documentation   for   new   adapter   features,   platforms   and   vendor   application   versions.  
  •   Enhance   or   adapt   existing   adapter   documentation.  
  •   Ensure   that   adapter   documentation   addresses   the   needs   of   its       audience(s).  
  •   Work   with   Quality   Assurance   to   insure   adapter   documentation   is   thoroughly   tested   and   reviewed.  
  •   Perform   final   review   and   editing   of   adapter   documentation   before   GA   submission.  
  •   Must   be   able   to   work   independently   and   collaboratively   to   gather   information   directly   from   software   developers,   and   write   complete   manuals   from   scratch   for   online   and   print   publication.    
  •   Work   well   under   pressure   and   time   constraints.      
  •   Must   be   willing   to   travel   and   enjoy   working   with   customers

  Qualifications  
  "•   3-5   years   technical   writing   experience.  
  •   Experienced   FrameMaker,   Visio   and   Quadralay   user.  
  •   Ability   to   read   C/C++/Java   source   code   a   plus.  
  •   Experienced   Siebel,   PeopleSoft   8,   Oracle   Applications,   SAP   R/3   or   Oracle   database   user   (preferred).  
  •   Have   served   roles   of   writer,   editor,   and   peer   reviewer.  
  •   Excellent   editing   skills,   including   the   ability   to   comprehend   highly   technical   and   complex   information  
  •   Ability   to   complete   work   with   minimal   supervision   and   meet   established   deadlines  
  •   B.A.   in   English   or   related   field,   with   a   concentration   in   Technical   communication   or   in   Computer   Science,   or   B.S.   in   an   engineering   or   a   technical   discipline   with   a   concentration   in   technical   writing.  
  •   Excellent   oral   and   written   communication   skills  
  •   In-depth   knowledge   of   the   English   language   and   the   correct   usage   of   grammar
